These days we’re all very familiar with the phrase, ‘health and well-being,’ but this isn’t always at the forefront of workplace design. At Alpha Scotland we are passionate about working with clients to create more effective working environments that take employee wellness into account – a key factor in the attraction and retention of staff.
We recently hosted a special day at our Glasgow headquarters dedicated to showcasing products and services that make for happier staff and a more pleasant workplace, as well as increased motivation and productivity.
Workshops on pilates and relaxation, ergonomics and acoustics ran throughout the day, giving people the chance to learn about a range of practices that can contribute towards a healthier workspace.
World-renowned acoustics expert, Rosalind Lambert-Porter, was a highlight. She explained how acoustic design, which is often neglected, is fundamental to encouraging – or preventing – different types of working be it concentrated or collaborative. Jacqueline Chappell, Ocee Design education workspace expert was on hand to answer queries, as was Alasdair Marshall from Interface which supplies commercial carpeting.
Gayle Cochrane and Lynn Dalling, who organised the event, were delighted to welcome Alpha Scotland clients to the Glasgow Showroom which had been re designed specifically for the day by the in-house design team. With the help of Kcal kitchen who provided healthy refreshments throughout the day,
it was a successful and informative event – we hope everyone had great day!
